REVISION ON TAXONOMY OF POLYGONUM SECTIONS IN IRAN BY PALYNOLOGICAL CHARACTERS

Abstract

Species belonging to different sections of the genus Polygonum L. were studied micro-morphologically. For this purpose, digital images were obtained from all species and lower taxa belonging to sections Persicaria, Bistorta, Tiniaria and Pleuropterus. Since section Polygonum is much diverse, pollens of three representative species Polygonum luzuloides, P. olivascens and P. setosum were photographed by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). Based on SEM studies shape, size, ornamentation of exine and porate/colpate pollens are considered diagnostic for separating the sections from each other. An identification key to the section Persicaria is presented and section is to be promoted to genus level.

Abstract [Persian]

در این تحقیق، گونه‌های بخش‌های مختلف جنس Polygonum در ایران، مورد مطالعه ریزریختارشناسی قرار گرفتند. به این منظور از گرده تمامی گونه‌ها و آرایه‌های پایین‌تر از گونه، در بخش‌های Persicaria، Tiniaria، Bistorta و Pleuropterus و نیز از گرده‌های سه گونه Polygonum luzuloides، P. olivascens و P. setosum به عنوان نماینده بخش Polygonum توسط میکروسکوپ الکترونی اسکنینگ (SEM)، تصاویری با بزرگ‌نمایی‌های مناسب تهیه شد. سپس ویژگی‌های سطح اگزین گرده تعیین شدند. پس از بررسی‌های دقیق مشخص شد که برخی از ویژگی‌های گرده‌ای، صفات بسیار مناسبی برای تفکیک بخش‌های مختلف این جنس هستند. بخش‌ها بر پایه ریخت عمومی، شیاردار یا منفذدار بودن، چگونگی تزیینات سطح اگزین و نیز اندازه گرده‌ها کاملاً قابل تفکیک هستند.
